Easy Homemade Hot Chocolate
Nothing special, but so much better than some of that powdered grocery store crap.
Yum yum yum!
- 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (dutch process, please)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 4 cups milk
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
- marshmallows if you want em
Add your cocoa powder!
Banilla! er. Vanilla. Vanilla bean paste to be exact. Loogit those tiny little beans!
Add a small amount of milk, enough to make a paste. To be able to work out any of the lumps and fully incorporate everything. If you dump in all of the milk at once it can take FOREVER to dissolve everything.
Add the rest of milk, mix, and heat to a scalding scald.
If you have these, throw one in! Or throw in an old candy cane or something. These are awesome and melt immediately, and add a really nice minty-ness.
I still have a giant bag of marshmallows, so I've used these. But if you have any fresh/fancy times marshmallows PLEASE USE THOSE INSTEAD. Grocery store ones suck. But in lieu of their suckiness, I've cut them all in half horizontally. This increases meltyness, and gives me more marshmallow fluff coverage. It's a science.
Pour hot chocolate into a mug and top with 'shmallows!
Then, pour a bunch of this into your hot chocolate when your bf isn't looking! Enjoy! 😀
